Welcome to South Shore Sober Living. We’re here to make the transition into sober living as simple, supportive, and transparent as possible. Below you’ll find everything you need to know about our admissions process, from eligibility to FAQs.

Eligibility Requirements

To ensure a safe, supportive, and recovery-focused environment, applicants must meet the following criteria:

18 years or older

Age Requirement

To ensure maturity and legal eligibility for independent living in a structured recovery environment.

48 hours of sobriety

Sobriety Before Entry

A baseline period of sobriety helps support a safe and stable transition into the home.

Step-by-Step Application Process

Step 1: Initial Inquiry

Reach out via phone, email, or through our website contact form to express interest.

Step 2: Phone Screen

We’ll conduct a short screening to assess fit and readiness for sober living.

Step 3: Application Submission

You’ll complete a brief application, which includes basic information, treatment history, and emergency contacts. 

Step 4: Interview

We’ll schedule a virtual or in-person interview to talk about expectations, goals, and the recovery journey.

Step 5: Acceptance & Move-In

If accepted, we’ll schedule your move-in date and provide all next steps.

What to Bring

To help you settle in comfortably, we recommend bringing:

one to two weeks' worth of clothing

toiletries (non-aerosol and alcohol-free)

bedding (twin-size sheets, blanket, pillow)

laundry supplies

notebook/journal

recovery materials (big book, journal, etc.)

medications (must be current & prescribed, with bottles labeled)

There is no maximum stay—as long as you remain in good standing and continue progressing in your recovery, you’re welcome here. 

Yes. Residents are encouraged to work, volunteer, or attend school while staying active in their recovery program.

Yes. Our homes operate with curfews, chore rotations, house meetings, and weekly accountability requirements to support structure.

Yes, but with guidelines. All visitors must be approved in advance, and visiting hours are limited to ensure safety and recovery focus. 

No. Each of our houses is gender-specific to best support the comfort and safety of our residents. 

Sober living is typically self-pay. However, we can provide receipts for those seeking reimbursement or working with scholarships.
